DEVICE Guitarist Interviewed By UpVenue.com (Video)
August 29, 2013UpVenue.com conducted an interview with guitarist Virus of DEVICE, the industrial-style project featuring DISTURBED frontman David Draiman, on August 10 at the Heavy MTL festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. You can now watch the chat below.
DEVICE has canceled all its tour dates for the next month and a half due to complications with the pregnancy of Draiman's wife. Draiman has decided to stay close to home until the baby is born, forcing the group to scrap all live appearances between now and the child's due date in the first week of October. Draiman and his wife, Japanese-American model, actress and wrestler Lena Yada, are expecting a boy, already named Samuel Bear Draiman. Draiman revealed the news of the pregnancy on May 2 via Twitter before announcing it at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards.
Draiman told The Pulse Of Radio earlier this summer how excited he was about becoming a father. "I'm very much looking forward to it," he said. "I've been wanting this for so, so, so long and to finally get to the point where he's almost here — it's getting me all verklemmt here. But it's gonna be an amazing thing. I am overwhelmed with joy and just hope that Sam comes into the world, you know, a happy and healthy baby boy."
Draiman and Yada were married in September 2011. The singer brought Yada up on stage recently during DEVICE's August 11 concert in Toronto.
DEVICE released a new music video earlier this month for the song "You Think You Know" from the band's self-titled debut album.
DEVICE's debut CD entered at No. 11 on the Billboard album chart last April, selling 35,000 copies in its first week of release. Draiman launched the group last year after his main band, DISTURBED, went on hiatus in late 2011.
